Whether you are listening in the Austin
area
or on the web, we welcome you!
A Message From Your Host ...
Blues listeners are mostly down
home, what you see is what you
get kind of people. We don't just
listen to the blues, we feel the
Blues. We have all lived these
songs to a certain extent. It takes
a little living to identify with Blues
music, maybe that's why most
Blues connoisseurs are
"Grown Folks" over
the age of 35.
Austin had already emerged as
a music mecca by the early 80s
when I first started spinning LPs
for the crowds in my home
town of San Antonio. Today,
as an Austinite, I know why this
city is world renown for
expression through music.
The people that populate
this great city live and breathe
music almost every waking
moment and I've come to find
out since taking over the late
night slot at 88.7 that not many
of you "Grown Folks" seem to
miss my show. You either catch
it before bed, at work, around town,
or you tune in when you wake
up in the morning. The feedback
we get at KAZI proves it. You are
the kind of listeners that keep a late
night DJ going all night and your
participation gives
"Blues After Midnight" a true
House Party/Juke Joint Flavor.
Thanks for feeling me. RL
